| The Illinois Development Council is a voluntary
group of economic development professionals affiliated as a not-for-profit
corporation for the purpose of furthering the development of
the economic base of Illinois.
A Board of Directors composed of thirteen members governs
IDC. A Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer
are elected annually by the Board of Directors and, along with the Immediate Past Chairman, make up
the Executive Committee. An Executive Director manages the day-to-day
operations of the Council with direction from the Board of
Directors. In addition, IDC committees work to:
- Create opportunities to advance the knowledge base of
economic development throughout the state
- Advocate public policy that enhances the economic competitiveness
of Illinois.
- Plan and execute marketing events positioning Illinois
as a premier business location in the global market place.
- Build and extend the partnership among active economic
development players in the state through communication,
membership development and support.
With the intent of fostering the economic growth in the
State of Illinois. IDC provides its members with numerous
opportunities for professional dialogue, education, and exchange
of information.
Membership in IDC is open to anyone interested in and concerned
with economic and industrial growth in the State of Illinois.
