The Illinois Development Council (IDC) is the recognized leader in the advancement and implementation of economic development policy and professionalism. IDC members work to improve Illinois' economic competitiveness through organizational responsiveness, education, policy advocacy and resource deployment.

It was to effect these goals for the State of Illinois that the Illinois Development Council (IDC) was created in 1969. IDC's membership, which includes individuals engaged in or supportive of economic development efforts within our state, has grown steadily since that time. Members are drawn from banking, utilities, railroads, chambers of commerce, real estate, consulting, private development, mortgage brokerage, community development, government, economic planning, education, and other organizations and companies.
